FIELD TEST FRIDAY: BACKCOUNTRY SKIING UTAH
by Ventureborn
Winter has hit the Wasatch Range surrounding Ventureborn HQ. With local resorts receiving record breaking early season snowfall, it's only fitting the locals are running for the hills in search of powder skiing bliss.
Some of the best backcountry skiing and snowboarding access points are moments from our office, making early morning "dawn patrol" missions the norm. Up before dawn, climb up, ski down...earn you turns in time to be back to work before 9:00am.
Buckle-Down... the Classic Collection in midnight and sage. Silicone rings are perfect for cold weather outdoor activity. Safe, comfortable and not so icy cold like traditional metal bands, and exceptionally durable for bucking up boots, applying skins to skis and snowboards and more.
All time snow conditions can mean all time avalanche conditions. It's key to not only own proper snow safety equipment like beacon, shovel, probe but to know how to use them properly and practice often. Nearly every region has an official avalanche forecaster or avalanche center that provides daily snow reports that red flag dangerous areas, weak layers in the snowpack, tips and training, classes and more. Make sure to utilize these amazing resources before venturing into the backcountry.
