FIELD TEST FRIDAY: DESTROYER EQUIPMENT
by Ventureborn
This week we got the chance to connect with Mike Nelson, the founder of Destroyer Equipment here in Utah. Destroyer produces helmets, pads, apparel and accessories for mountain biking and skateboarding.
Mike is no slouch when it comes to brand and product building. Having served in key roles at industry leading brands such as Nixon, Fossil and Electric, his experience is evident in all aspects of the Destroyer brand. Thoughtfully curated color palettes, excellent use of fabrics and next level branding and identity.

Mike in his Heber, Utah workshop going through Winter 19-20 MTB apparel. From merino wool tops, wicking jerseys, freeride shorts to foul weather technical outerwear. The new Destroyer collection has something for all types of adventurers.
Product design, sourcing, marketing, selling, packing, shipping, social media...Mike wears many hats, or in this case, helmets. Destroyer is 100% family owned and operated.
Roots.
We were super stoked to learn that Mike runs Ventureborn Classic Collection Rings while at work and play. What he likes the most about VB silicone rings is the fact that he can go from spinning laps on his bike to packing and shipping orders without having to worry about losing his metal wedding band. No brainer, right?
The Destroyer mantra... "Love & Destroy."
Thanks so much for letting us come hang at the shop this week, Mike. Truly an inspiration to all of us. Keep destroying!
