One of our favorite backcountry zones is Galena Pass in Idaho. This area served as inspiration for the Galena in our Adventure Collection. Galena Pass is a beautiful mountain pass that connects world renowned ski area, Sun Valley and the remote mountain town of Stanley.

Galena Pass is home to amazing roadside backcountry ski and snowboarding with terrain that can challenge the most seasoned backcountry traveler. However, don't let the easy access fool you, within a quick 60 minute skin, it can get very remote. 

Make sure to travel with a partner, not only have the proper equipment such as avalanche beacon, shovel, probe but know how to use it. And last but not least, get the latest avalanche report and conditions before heading out by visiting Sawtooth Avalanche Center.
